Anyone else missing football? I was just thinking
about a play
Troy Polamalu made on December 12, 2010. You can watch the video
here. By giving his absolute best effort to
the team in this particular play, like so many he has done before, Polamalu demonstrates why he is successful in more than just football, but why he is also a
success in life. Polamalu plays with passion, but he takes it even further than
Polamalu on passion on and off the field.
During an interview by
60 Minutes he was asked about his passion
for football. He believes that his actions on the football field carry a
stronger message than any words he could say. His actions personify "Fa'a
Samoa", which literally means the Samoan Way.
That is conducting yourself
with humility, respect, and loyalty. In a
CBN interview about his faith, Polamalu
says that he tries to conduct his life, both on and off the field, with passion
for his wife, his son, his faith, and his profession. His 110% effort at work propels
him into a position of influence and leadership without asking for it or talking
about it. It is because of his actions that his teammates willing put him into a
leadership role. That also allows
Polamalu to be an example to both football
fans and those unfamiliar with football.
What are you passionate about? What do you feel
called to do? How will you perform today? What will your actions say about you
